Slanic Moldova - health and relaxation

Slanic Moldova is situated on the eastern slope of the mountain Nemira (Eastern Carpathians) at a height of 530 m on the valley Slănic. The city is placed in a depression covered with deciduous and coniferous forests.

Slănic Moldova Resort is famous for its 20 oligomineral water springs discovered in 1801. The first chemical tests were performed in 1852 and the first balneary installations appeared in 1877. Along the years, the characteristics of the mineral waters discovered here were confirmed by the medals obtained at the international exhibitions in Paris, Wien, Frankfurt. The specialists compared them with the mineral springs from Karlovy Vary, Vichy, Aix-les-Bains.

The Casino Building is an emblem of Slănic Moldova resort, together with other buildings of an important significance, like Racoviţă Central Pavilion and other touristic villas. The building was declared a historical monument.

Dated since 1894, Slănic Moldova Casino building was built by Italian craftsmen, benefiting in the following years of a series of changes. The Casino building was restored during 1986-1989 to the initial design, being fully arranged as a cultural-educational facility.

Slanic river gorge covers a surface of approximately 400 metres, running parallel to the paved road, at a lower height. Being made from large stones and going down smoothly on steps, the waterfall is part of the Slanic Gorges, which separate the Pufu mountain (on the left bank) and the Dobru mountain (on the right bank). The waterfall scenery is completed by the broadleaf forest on the banks.

A footbridge built across the waterfall enables you to cross to the left bank of the river, to the concrete tile alley which runs up and down the river and gives the tourists the chance to have a very beautiful view of the waterfall and the gorges.

Slanic Moldova is a wonderful place where you can spend relaxing moments in a natural beautiful surroundings.
